VAT Registration Services in Dubai

Mandatory for every business above the threshold.

If you are a business owner in the UAE, you need to get registered under the VAT law that came into effect from 1st January 2018. Once a company is registered for VAT, it must file VAT returns on a regular basis, or as set by the Authority. HayyaTax is one of the leading consultancies in the UAE offering VAT registration services in Dubai, alongside VAT deregistration, VAT accounting, and VAT return filing.

Who Needs This

Mandatory above AED 375,000 — voluntary above AED 187,500.

VAT registration is mandatory if the total value of your taxable supplies and imports exceeds AED 375,000 over the previous 12 months, or is expected to exceed it in the next 30 days (this threshold does not apply to foreign organizations). Voluntary registration is available once taxable supplies, imports, or taxable expenses exceed AED 187,500.

Timing

Register once you cross the threshold — or before you expect to.

A business must register once it has exceeded the mandatory threshold in the previous 12 months, or once it expects to exceed it within the next 30 days. Certain related parties may also need to register as a Tax Group, subject to the Executive Regulation's conditions.

What You'll Need

Documents for VAT registration.

  • Passport copy or Emirates ID of the authorized signatory
  • Trade license copy of the company
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Certificate of Articles of Association
  • Certificate of Power of Attorney, if applicable
  • Description of business activities
  • Turnover for the last 12 months in AED, with supporting sales documents
  • Expected turnover in the next 30 days
  • Estimated value of imports/exports for one year from/to GCC countries
  • Details of bank account
Why This Matters

What non-registration costs you.

  • Failing to register by the deadline set by the FTA, or after crossing the threshold, carries a fine of AED 20,000
  • Late registration also means lost input tax recovery for the period you should have been registered
  • We track your turnover so registration happens before it becomes a problem

How soon must I apply once I meet the mandatory registration criteria? ⌄
You must apply for tax registration within 30 days of being required to register.
